April 01, 2007 DART® Data
On 2007/04/01 near GIZO, NEW GEORGIA ISLAND, SOLOMON ISLANDS (8.481°S, 156.978°E) at 20:39:56 UTC, a magnitude 8.1 earthquake occurred.
This page provides links to data collected from the Deep-ocean Assessment and Reporting of Tsunami (DART®) buoys. These data files contain raw observations, fitted tidal components, and residual tide values. There are 2 types of data: We have also provided the computed tides, details on the harmonic tidal analysis results and spectra on 15-sec data files. The source 15-second data are in pounds per square inch absolute [psia] and the tidal analysis is performed on these data sets. The real-time data are processed in PSIA to be compatible with the data from previous deployments. All tsunami event data as observations, fitted tides and residuals here are provided in meters water column using conversion factor of 670.0 mm of water/PSIA. On the right of the Tsunami Travel Time map below there are links to individual data files under column Data. The columns in those files are as follows: Time in Julian days from the beginning of the year, Year, Month, Day, Hours, Minutes, Seconds, Raw Observations, Fitted tidal component, and computed residuals in meters water column. We have also provided details on the harmonic analysis results under column Tide. Spectra are provided for those DARTs® whose BPR were retrieved and a complete record of high-resolution 15-second data are available at the moment. DART data processing description.
